Dark Arteries, featuring the music of composer award winning Gavin Higgins was released to widespread critical and popular acclaim in 2016.
It
contained superb performances of his score to the ground breaking collaboration
between the Rambert Ballet Company and the band for the contemporary ballet ‘Dark
Arteries’, as well as the live performance from the Stravinski Auditorium in
2011 of his exceptional contemporary work, ‘Destroy, Trample, As Swiftly As She’
inspired by the writings of the Marquis de Sade.
It won the accolades of ‘CD of the Year’ from all three major brass band
publishers - the on-line magazine 4Barsrest.com, as well as the weekly British
Bandsman newspaper and the monthly Brass Band World magazine.
The aim of this Heritage Lottery Fund (HLF) supported project is to provide an on-line multi-media resource that will celebrate and interpret the historical importance of the social, cultural and musical achievements of Tredegar Town Band over a time-line of the past 170 years – from the earliest reported origins in 1849 to date.
