Who are we?

Tredegar Town Band is a competing brass band based in Tredegar, South Wales. We are a registered charity focused on making music and bringing joy to communities of listeners up and down the country. 

What personal data will we collect about you?

We may collect the following:

• Contact information including name, address, phone number and email

How will we collect your personal data?

We may collect personal information about you when:

• You subscribe to our newsletter
• You contact us
• You become a sponsor of the band or make a donation
• You use our website or social media accounts
• You purchase tickets or any other Tredegar Town Band merchandise 

What will we do with your personal data?

• We may use your email address to contact you about band news or upcoming events
• We may also use your contact details to send you tickets or other items you have bought from us
• Track activity on our website and on social media
• We will not share your personal data with any other organisation without your explicit consent

Your information may also be disclosed to organisations who:

• Provide printing and mail services to us
• Provide web, email and social media services to us

We may also disclose information to investigating authorities such as the police and customs and excise, or if required to do so by law.

What are your rights?

You have the right to have your personal data deleted or rectified. You can also restrict what personal data we have and how we use it, and object if you think we are doing anything that you have not consented to. To exercise any of these rights please contact us using the ‘contact us’ function on the band’s website.

If you believe that any information we are holding on you is incorrect or incomplete, you should also contact us.

You can freely withdraw your consent or opt out of updates at any time (or indeed opt in), by emailing the band through the ‘contact us’ function on the band website. 

You may request details of the personal information that we hold about you under the General Data Protection Regulation Act 2018, at no cost. Again, please use the ‘contact us’ function, and we will respond within 30 days. 

How long will we keep your personal data? 

We will retain your contact details until you tell us that you no longer wish to hear from us. You may unsubscribe from our newsletter at any time by clicking the ‘unsubscribe’ button in the newsletter email. When you ask us to stop contacting you, we will delete your contact details within one working week. 

If you make an inquiry regarding the band’s availability for a particular event, we will retain your contact details indefinitely in order to facilitate communication. We will then keep these details for a further year unless you tell us not to, in which case we will delete your contact details within one working week. 

What are ‘cookies’ and how will we use them?

A cookie is a small file which asks permission to be placed on your computer's hard drive. Once you agree, the file is added and the cookie helps analyse web traffic or lets you know when you visit a particular site. Cookies allow web applications to respond to you as an individual. The web application can tailor its operations to your needs, likes and dislikes by gathering and remembering information about your preferences.

The Google Analytics tracking cookie specifically also allows us to access aggregated demographic and audience data from online behavioural advertising services. This information is only available to us at a group level, with no personal or identifiable information contained within it. It is used only for us to evaluate the effectiveness of the website and see how different groups of visitors use and respond to the site, and in no way allows us to track people individually.

We use traffic log cookies to identify which pages are being used. This helps us analyse data about web page traffic and improve our website in order to tailor it to customer needs. We only use this information for statistical analysis purposes and then the data is removed from the system.
