Ryan Richards started playing the cornet at the age of 8 but quickly developed a passion for the trombone.
He studied music at the Royal Birmingham Conservatoire where he was taught by some of the finest trombone players, and gained a first class honours degree. During this time Ryan was invited to join one of the world's finest brass bands Tredegar Town Band and is now the band's principal trombone player, playing in many prestigious concerts and competitions across the UK and Europe, as well as winning the Best Trombone Prize at the Brass in Concert Championships in 2023.
His reputation as a player has seen him receive invitations to guest with other world renowned bands including Cory Band, Grimethorpe Flowers band and Carlton Main Frickley Colliery. Ryan is now teaching music back in his home town of Telford and currently holds the position of Musical Director with the Jackfield Brass Band.
We are very fortunate to have excellent musicians in the band...
